Arabesque Events Presents Picnic Against Apartheid
Following the success of last year's Picnic for Palestine featuring singer-songwriter, Farah Elle, we have partnered up this year with Arabesque Events and Amnesty International to go bigger and better! This year, we are organizing a mini-festival of Middle Eastern music, art, food and dance and we will be using the hall, garden and meeting rooms.
All performances – rap, bellydancing, Arabic classic songs, Arabic pop songs, instrumental and DJ – take place in the hall with the show starting at 7.30pm sharp. Doors open on the night from 5pm as there will be an opportunity to check out the outstanding work of Arabic calligraphy art by Dr. Mohamad Al-Masri, an Orthopaedic surgeon from Syria living in Ireland. Information stands by Amnesty International, with a focus on their Palestine campaign, and Yourself Centre will also be on hand.
In the spirit of the picnic you are invited to relax in the garden and eat delicious food by food vendors, Dakka Food and Moroccan Delights. There will also be a clothes vendor and henna tattooing.
Tickets for this event are on sale on Eventbrite (search Arabesque Events Presents Picnic Against Apartheid). We have an Early Bird sale for €5. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night for €7. Entry is free for anyone in Direct Provision/International Protection once names are registered with me in advance.
