Rialto Social Day Care Centre
The stated purpose of the Centre is to allow the older persons of Rialto and the wider community to maintain their dignity and independence after a lifetime of contribution to society. Open five days a week, the Centre provides up to 75 places per week for older people. This generally takes the form of 15 places per day, with some clients coming for one or two days a week, and some coming five.
The Centre offers a transport service to collect and return clients daily from their homes. Clients take part in social activities including bingo, music, watching DVDs etc. as well as participating in organised classes such as painting, arts & crafts and chair exercise. They can also relax in the garden and enjoy a hot meal prepared daily from our kitchen.
Personal hygiene services such as hairdressing and showering are also part of the overall service provided, as is chiropody. An annual trip is organised each year and when funds permit clients may also be brought out to enjoy such activities as concerts.
Clients are also assisted when necessary to access information they might require, fill in forms, manage hospital appointments and link in with relevant professional services.
Services and Activities
A big part of the centre is ensuring that our clients are happy and content with their daily lives. To ensure this, we host a number of activities to keep our clients' minds stimulated at all times. These include and are not limited to Arts & Crafts, Chair Exercises, Music and Sing Songs, Bingo and DVD days.
Fees
We understand that the local elderly and the elderly within the country as a whole aren't able to pay extortionate fees for services, so here at Rialto Social Day Care, we try to keep costs at a minimum.
Our list of fees is as follows:
Transport: €5 per week
Hot meal: €4 per day
Attendance fee: €1 per day
Chiropody: €10 with medical card
