New RDA Board Chair Announced
Silvija Delekovcan has been named chair of the Board of Directors at the RDA. She is also the first female chair in the history of the RDA. Silvija has a background in HR and has passion for DEI&B (diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging), wellbeing, sustainability and community development. She is no stranger to St. Andrew’s. She lives locally and has been serving the RDA Board of Directors since May 2019.
"St. Andrew’s is a remarkable organization that I have been honoured to be a
part of over the past few years both as a board director and a local resident of Rialto.” Silvija said. “We have a wonderful culture and tradition and an amazing group of staff that are committed to meeting the needs of our local community. It is a huge privilege for me to be elected as the Chair of the RDA board and I am committed to building upon the positive legacy.”
Silvija succeeds Ray Hegarty who served as Board Chair since 2018.
“On behalf of all members of the RDA, I want to thank Ray for the extraordinary leadership he has provided to St Andrew’s.” Silvija said. “I look forward to continuing to work with Ray in our new roles. Coming out of COVID and with a new Strategic Plan for the coming years I feel it will be an exciting future. I look forward to working with staff, stakeholders, fellow board members and the community to ensure St. Andrew’s continues its proud tradition as a first-class community centre - for the community in the community”.
In stepping down at the RDA AGM, Ray announced: “I would like to thank all the centre team and our board members for their work, support, expertise and commitment over the past four years. It’s a perfect time for the new chair to start as we implement our strategic plan and I look forward to supporting in whatever way I can”.
